  3. Shaun says:

Sorry but been a long time since I frist and rolled.

  4. You may be frist but I’m forth!

vocabulary building link and helping others. I promise not to link to this site again .

    Bored in HK:
” “The money generated by these advertisements is then used to buy the rice. So by playing, you generate the money that pays for the rice donated to hungry people” “.

Interesting concept – and a lot better than wasting trees sending out glossy begging letters..

    Everyone [including philologists]:
    Sanskrit Festival on this weekend.

  8. Helen says:

Here is some shameless self-promotion, on the understanding that it’s a one-off.

There is a tangential reference to current events.

Feel free to delete this post if you feel it’s pushed the SSP level up too far – I’ll understand!

  9. Zarquon says:

Ms Laura’s show gets a write up in the Age.

  10. Paul Burns says:

Fascinated by that amazing story of the ferret on the 7.30 report last night. Travelling from Canberra to Cooma because it wanted to live in the bush. What a great kid’s movie it would make. If you could find the right ferret to play the leading roll.
Escaping cats, dingoes, dogs, hawks, traffic, presumabvly crossing streams and rivers. Good thing it did it in summer. It would have froze to death in winter.

  11. Su says:

Congratulations to Ms Laura! I hope this means a prolific and precipitous return to bloggy engagements soon?

Speaking of wondrous antipodean women; howzabout those netballers? I can haz “Yay, Netball” post along similar lines to (*yawn*) “yay rugby/league/rules” post sometime soon, Pls? We did WIN111! after all.

  12. Jack Robertson says:

“Mark Bahnisch, founder of leading Australian blog Larvatus Prodeo, believes that, to change this, citizen journalists need to focus on beats not being covered in the mainstream media, and to find original voices.”

I see MB’s been slipping payola to The Age’s Rachel Hills again!

The MSM traction LP is getting these days is a testament to LP-ers’ staying power and savvy, MB. Congratulations, and thanks to all for teh ongoing effort in making this site available. It’s an appreciated and worthwhile labor of leeerve. BTW, I’m having a bit of trouble donating in this transitional phase (and not just because I’m stingy and broke). Suggest someone (re)post a direct link to your Paypal portal here in LP Exile, MB. The relevant link’s gone MIA on the original site.

  13. Zarquon says:

    The question for the ages.
    The answer is
    yes.

  14. Zarquon says:

    Darn. So much for subtlety.

  15. mick says:

    Hehe. I saw that too.

I wonder if she’s ever read that post on LP?

Remember folks, Saudi = Friend. Even if they did provide most of the 9/11 hijackers and run a government/justice system not unlike the Taliban. Im guessing when reports like this come out the US puts its fingers in its ears and says “Lalalalalal cant hear you”

  17. Paul Burns says:

Its good to see Saturday Salon is on top of such world breaking news as Missy Higgins lesbianality. Whatever will the folks in Tamworth think?

  18. Suggest someone (re)post a direct link to your Paypal portal here in LP Exile, MB. The relevant link’s gone MIA on the original site.

Jack, probably the easiest thing to do is just to go to the original site and hit the donate button at the top of the sidebar. Thanks!

In other news, the Spice Girls are lipsnigers:

  19. Oh, and I think there’s still room for speculation on Missy:

She suggested she was bisexual but she refused to jump all the way out of the closet and confirm rumours she is gay.

Asked whether she would define herself as a “not-so-straight” girl, she replied: “Yeah, definitely. I think a lot of people fall under that broad umbrella term.

“I think sexuality is a fluid thing and it’s becoming increasingly more acceptable to admit that you’re that way. I don’t think it’s necessary to have to define yourself by any label.

“If you’re comfortable with who you are and you know who you are on the inside, people will love you for it.”

  20. mbahnisch says:

Jack, I’ve just been investigating the PayPal problem, and it looks like the “pages” – ie links on the sidebar – didn’t migrate across to the new site along with the rest of the database.

I’ve created a temporary page with a donate button pointing to the PayPal account, and it’s here:

    http://larvatusprodeo.net/donate-to-lp/

I’ve just tested it and it looks to be working, but please do let us know if there are any further problems, and thanks very much for your feedback which has been very helpful.

  21. CK says:

‘Sexuality is fluid’. I like it.
