Rudd was talking with the electorate but the commentariat couldn’t hear

For the second time in a month, the ABC ran a show last night on some lay people taking the plunge and living in a Benedictine monastery for a few weeks. I was therefore reminded last night of the first word of the Benedictine rule: “Listen!”… Over at Unleashed, I argue that basic task – which underlies respect for others and humility – was something much of the political class forgot how to do in this election campaign.
